We decided to renovate our Carriage House in 2007. This stand alone building needed to be able to support the heating and cooling requirements for our garage and home office/theater. Our old grey wood panel garage doors offered no insulation and were in need of replacement. We decided on the Clopay Coachman Collection carriage house style garage doors constructed of steel and composite with an R-value of 6.5. These doors provide the turn of the century look for the period of our Carriage House.
We also were concerned with initial door openings, which are 6 ft 6 inches H x 8 ft W, the ceilings at 7 ft 6 inches. Clopay customer service worked with us on the space requirements needed. The garage doors hold up well from the abuse of a basketball court. We installed them ourselves, a little tricky, but not impossible!

I bought my house in 2007, with the original garage door being uninsulated and outdated. The main thing you see from the street in my particular neighborhood is the garage door and the fence. I bought a Clopay Ultra-grain Gallery Collection garage door and WHAT A DIFFERENCE it makes! It is simply beautiful and keeps out the heat and cold so well it is unbelievable. Extremely quiet, too. It is the only garage door like it in my development so my house stands out from the rest. I have had numerous neighbors and passersby stop and ask about it.
